It started with a bear…
but it was never “just” a bear.

A bear born from love, loss and the quiet, desperate need for comfort when the ache of loss felt too much.

Blue Bear & Co. was born from the deepest place of my heart.
From grief.
From motherhood.
From the moment I realised that when the world feels unsafe, healing cannot begin.

After losing my son Charlie, everything changed. The world felt louder, harsher and unfamiliar. As a qualified counsellor with over a decade of experience working with children, young people and adults; a career built around helping others feel safe, regulated and supported. I suddenly found myself searching for something to hold me together.

Talking could only take me so far.

What I needed wasn’t advice.
It wasn’t explanations.
It was comfort.

Something physical.
Something grounding.
Something that said, you are not alone without needing words.

That’s when the idea of the bear came.

Not a toy.
Not something decorative.
But a presence.

A bear that could recreate the things we instinctively need when we’re overwhelmed or grieving:

A steady heartbeat to calm the nervous system.
A familiar voice to bring reassurance.
A scent that feels like home.

Because safety is not a luxury.
It’s the foundation.

Without safety, the body stays in survival mode.
Without safety, emotions have nowhere to land.
Without safety, healing simply cannot begin.

The Brown Bear was the first, the original.
Designed to help create that feeling of calm and containment, whether for a child struggling with anxiety, a teenager feeling overwhelmed or an adult navigating loss, stress or emotional overload.

Each Brown Bear now comes with access to a guided mindful meditation, something gentle, grounding and intentionally slow. Because sometimes we need help learning how to breathe again. How to soften. How to rest.

Blue Bear & Co. isn’t about fixing pain.
It’s about holding space for it.

It’s about acknowledging that comfort looks different for everyone and that needing it does not make us weak.
It makes us human.

Charlie’s legacy lives in every bear we send out into the world.
In every moment of calm they help create.
In every child who sleeps easier.
In every adult who feels held when life feels too heavy.

This is more than a business.
It’s a continuation of love.
