The Bear That Started It All 🧸💙

Some stories start with a “once upon a time.”

Ours started with a heartbeat.

When I began creating Blue Bear & Co., I wasn’t thinking about a brand or a collection of teddies. I was thinking about my own need for connection, my own need to feel close to my son, my own need to have something physical to hold onto.

Brown Bear was the very first. He carried a heartbeat, with a soothing vibration. He had a voice recording and when I pressed play, it wasn’t just a sound, it was Charlie…his laugh, his voice. He had a scent within which captured a moment in time. Charlie’s warmth was all wrapped up in something I could hold. That bear became more than fabric, he became a lifeline.

From there came Light Blue Bear, inspired by Charlie’s Blue Bear and designed to carry a little piece of ‘Thumbs Up for Charlie’ into the World, raising awareness and giving back to a cause so close to my heart. You can find more details at www.thumbsupforcharlie.co.uk.

Then Dark Blue Bear came along quietly inspiring a children’s book called ‘Finding You’… which, I’m so excited to share, will be published on 12th September 2025 and available to preorder at the end of the month!📘💙

Each bear carries a piece of my heart and maybe, if you’ve welcomed one into your home, they now carry a piece of yours too.

Whether yours has been given as a gift from a loved one or simply a gift to yourself, they are bears with purpose and meaning. Each one offers comfort, connection and a cuddle. They are made for life, for love and for moments when you just need something to hold on to.
